FAN discount and next plan upgrade

I have a 25% discount on my individual plan that I have held for years. If I use the next plan to upgrade (12 month) to a new iphone, will I lose this discount? It is my understanding that using the next plan to upgrade will offer a discount on your service plan.

So will I:
Lose my fan discount?
Have both discounts?
Or will either discount apply to certain parts of my account? Voice discount vs data?

I am still very weary about these no installment plans.
