How does AT&T figure the taxes it charges for each line of service?
I have 3 lines on my account, myself and the two girls. I have a QMD w/ no data. They have iphones. one 4 and one 5.
They are each $9.99 plus $30 each for data.
On the detailed billing for their phones it lists all the fees and taxes. The iphone 5 pays county tax .02, state sales tax .33 and TX telecom tax .75, totaling $1.10.
The iphone 4 pays county tax .15, state sales tax 1.89, and TX telecom tax .77 totaling $2.81.
They live in the same house, go to the same school and stay in the same basic area.
So why would the 5 pay less than 50 % of the taxes paid by the 4???
All the other fees are the same for both lines.
Plus, i called the county tax collector and she says there isn't a county sales tax. Just state and city. and we live outside any city limits, ie. "in the Boonies".
Just wondering how AT&T gets their figures?????
