Online Data Reporting Mismatch with Downloaded Data (CM20151026_108098659)

I got a message telling me I was nearing the end of my data plan for the month, went online to find out which phone was causing it, then downloaded the Excel copy of the data report. When I added all the data up, it came to approximately 50% of what was being shown for that period on the same report.  The Excel file was a mixture of KB and MB, so I converted everything to MB before summing.  It showed data entries for seveal times a day for each day in the period, so I'm pretty sure it was complete.

I spent 2.5 hours on the phone with customer service.  It took them a while to get what I was asking, then took them a long time to add up all the data entries shown on the web report to prove it matched what I got, and that it was still 1/2 the total shown.

It appears like either the Excel file is somehow undercounting, or that the data usage sum displayed on the web page is counting double.  The support case entered, allegedly to the web team, was closed the next day with no additional information.  The format of the Excel file changed a little, but the total remained the same.

This seems like a pretty large accounting issue that the web team would want to take seriously.  So, I'm surprised it wasn't treated as such.  The FCC tends to frown on such things.

Is anyone else seeing this?
