I needed to get a new phone for me and a phone for my son. That would have brought our account up to 3 lines. Unbeknownst to us the salesman added a 4th line and put a tablet device in the bag with the boxes for the phones and cases. I got home and dropped the bag in a corner and went out of town for 13 days. I come home, go to clean out the bag and see the tablet. I look at the paperwork and buried in one of the pages I see the 4th line for the tablet. This was not told to us nor did we know it. I call customer service and complain and say "I don't want this." She apologizes and tells me it has to be fought back to where I got it by the next day because that will be 14 days. I explain that I cannot get there the next day, it's a work day and we have children. I ask if I can return it on Saturday, two days after that. I am told no problem nd she said she noted the account.
since that day I have had nothing but grief. The salesmen wouldn't take it back because it was past 14 days, he said he sees no notation on the account and I have to go to an actual store and not a counter like hi s in a mall. I call CS again and now no one knows anything. I am being told I have to keep the device or pay cancellation fees.
They want ant to charge me for something I did not want or agree to. Then they told me they can deduct $5 a month. Total bull. After hours of trying to get someone to help I hang up. This last Friday I get a $500 bill. They went and cancelled the unwanted line and now are charging me cancellation fees. No amount of explaining or retelling of this sordid tale gets anyone to do the logical and right thing and remove the charges.
I gave up up and I am moving my service to Verizon. More data less money plus $300. I will pay the ATT bill related only to our three lines. I will never pay for any charges related to the fourth line. How dare they pad my bill with unwanted services. For the want of $200 ATT now loses an account that nets them more than 1500 a year. How stupid are they? Good riddance. Stupid, stupid people.
