We decided to upgrade to a Samsung and were offered an initially free galaxy tablet if we just paid for the tax for the device. We were told about a $10 additional fee to add the device to the data plan but were assured that this could be removed with no mention of a cancellation or early termination fee. Our bill came is usually $189 so when we got a bill for $264.50 we were obviously shocked, after calling customer service we learned of the situation were in and forwarded to retention to try to get things resolved. We were then told that our only option to lower our bill would be to drop from the 20GB for $100 plan to a 10GB for $80 or a bill transfer where we would give the responsibilities of the extra line that was added to our plan to someone else that needed it. We were tricked into signing the terms and conditions of a contract that we were unaware of because our understanding was that we were just signing for the upgrade, not an additional line for the tablet. Now we are stuck with paying for this extra device that is far from being free and a bad taste in our mouths because of the bait and switch tactics used by the sales representatives and the inability of customer service and retention to resolve our problem.
