Penalize loyal customers

I need you to tell me why you penalize loyal customers. I have been a customer since 2005 I recently bought an iPhone 6 at the Apple store and was told my contract price would remain the same if I renewed for 2 years so I did. The next day I get a text that essentially said because I did not purchase my phone through your next plan I would lose the line discount of $25. After talking to a customer service rep I was told to keep the discount I would have to return the phone and buy it through your next program and pay for the phone monthly. Either way my bill would go up and in the long run the savings would not be that significant.  I called again and got the same story from another rep . So explain why I renew with you for 2 years and because I did not finance my phone my bill will increase.. Doesn't make any sense to me.
