I have four lines in my account. Recently, I consolidated them all into the "Mobile Share Value Plan" ... a great deal. Last month I upgraded two of the lines' phones. The usual stuff, fee this ... fee that. Fine. Nowhere during the process I was asked/warned: "do you agree that your plan for each of those lines will go up by $25 per month?". Well, it did. i.e. an extra $50/m total: over the duration of the contract it will cost me $1,200 more than I thought.
I don't mind the extra charge as much as the way I have accrued it. Yes. I am absolutely sure that somewhere, in very small print it states that the upgrade nullifies the discount rate. Good for you ATT you are covered...
I have been with ATT for quite a while - mainly because I have better things to do than plan-shopping. But this angered me enough that I did little math with T-Mobile plans. Even without the "buyout" option I am saying: Good bye ATT, hello T-Mobile.
