How does ATT calculate taxes/surcharges? can someone or ATT provide the formulas used to calculate them? I understand the rates are set and varied by the state and federal goverment periodically. However, my bill is different every single month because taxes/surcharges are different every single month. How is that possible? I have checked the rates charged by the state and federal government and it is impossible for taxes/surcharges to be different every single month. It is usually set for a period of a few months to a few years. I have called the IRS, FCC, my state public utilities commision, and other agencies, and I could not confirm that what is happening makes any sense. ATT addresses this topic with an ambiguous rubric for taxes/surcharges on their website designed not to provide the viewer with an accesible quantitative rubric or measure to verify the validity of the charges on the customer's bill regarding taxes/surcharges. I have not encountered any ATT representative over the phone that can systematically deconstruct the methology used to ensue these taxes/surcharges. You just get cycled through their adminstrative bureacracy designed to deter your pursuits regarding any matter that probes their practices, Thank You. Would like an answer from an ATT representative, preferrably.
