Hello,
I am having a HTC one (M7) with AT&T from August 2013. Due to some visa challenges, I have to leave the country in a week or less. This put me in a position to cancel my contract by paying the early termaination fee of almost 260$ including taxes and other changes.
What is the best thing I can do to reduce my charges?
Earlier ATT used to waive the ETFs if someone leaves the country and not returning back. Looks like this is not the case anymore after talking to their support?
Also I need to understand how putting the account on hold works? I heard , I need to pay $10 every month and I can keep my mobile on hold. However, lets say if I come back to US after 6 months, would the contract begins with the same remaining balance I need to pay or the $60 (6*$10 per month) would be deducted from the remaining balance I need to pay now?
Also, I am ready to transfer this line to someone else's name , can ATT help with this? Is it required for the person who takes over this line need to go over a credit check ? Please advise.
