Why doesn't ATT own up to it's own mistakes?

I had my ex-company phone changed over to my name in order to keep my number. ATT system would not change the phone to my new carrier Consumer Celluar. I had to call support and they had to call someone else, after a couple of hours it is done. I am on ATT one and a half days. I get a bill for a month, I call and they check, opps, they fix it and due to having to call twice they take the switch fee off. I get a bill it still is wrong, I call again they straighten it out tell me m y bill is less than ten bucks and it will be on the new bill that way.  I get the new bill and there is a 5 dollar late fee on it. YEAH, ATT took so long to get it straighten out and then get me the new bill it was late, not because of me but because of ATT. I call yet again and am told by the service persdon and the floor person that I SHOULD HAVE paid it without waiting for the bill since I was told how much it was.  It may say Customer Service on the recording when you call but it definately is NOT customer service.
