It all started: 1 landline with no variable services attached $35/mo
Four years later, added 2 wireless lines with shared data $84/mo
Rep offered to combine billing into one account (um, ok, figured that would have been automatic, but whatever).
First combined bill arrives, $280 higher than expected. First instance of W..T..F. Called in, explained we were overcharged, transferred, explained again, transferred again, explained again ... on and on. Credits issued $0. So, more calls the next day with same transferring B..S, until (drum roll) someone actually understood the bill and indicated we were charged heavily for data overage. Big W..T..F moment. Had never used more than .1 of 1GB (10%) with previous carrier Verizon. First thought, what a scam. Second thought, it was a scam. Agent could not explain cause of overage but ultimately issued credits.
Next month, landline jumps from $35 to $85. Wireless bill shows $10 late fee (right, like we were going to pay that first bill which was incorrect) plus another data overrage. Are you f-ing kidding me?
Every other month, more nightmares like this. Call cust svc, now transfers take SO MUCH longer because you have to speak with Combined billing dept. PROBLEM: Combo billing cannot see the other account and the billing mechanism lags actual costs as delivered from landline and wireless dept. HUH? So what's the point of combo billing??? Transfer back to wireless to discuss incorrect bill...wireless informs me that bill is paid in full. "But...but...combo billing says I have a balance." ...."No sir, it shows everything is paid up." One week later, service is disconnected.
This continues playing out month after month. Requested my bill to be uncombined. How'd that work out? Well, I sit here today with a disconnected landline and an outstanding balance on wireless. Added all bills back to day 1, audited against payments made and I have now overpaid approx $500 (again, neither line has any variable cost outside of the +/- few dollars for tax variances each month).
I need a single point of contact with someone who actually has authority to issue credits on landline and/or wireless. So, please let me know how to get you my contact info AT&T so you can reach out.
