Account erroneously sent for collection

By looking at my annual credit report I found only now that AT$T has sent my account for collection last August (with a balance of $123). I have lived abroad in the last 2 years and as far as I know I did not have an ATT account during that time except for GoPhone sims, which I purchased on occasional visits to the US. I suspect that the source of the error is that a representative in an AT&T store in SF once mistakenly enrolled me in a regular account instead of a go phone. I pointed out the mistake immediately and she cancelled the account on the spot and sold me a GoPhone account instead. I now suspect it may not have been closed properly and I was billed for it without knowing. Can anyone tell me how I can find out the account number and have this issue resolved with AT&T? I hope AT&T can correct their own error and erase.

 

If there is an AT&T agent monitoring these forums I would appreciate if he/she could direct me where to send a private message to provide further details on this issue.
