Cancellation policy on wireless plans

Hi, I was for 1 hour and 17 minutes on the phone today with the Customer service Dept, Billing Dept, Cancellation Dept, and Customer care Dept trying to find out why if a plan (the whole line in fact) is cancelled on the first day after the previous billing cycle has ended the customer will be charged for the month when there was no service rendered, could anyone explain that please? Att does not even generate the next bill until 7 days after the billing cycle has ended which puts the customer in a disadvantageous position already not knowing the amount being charged. Is it accurate that ATT wireless does not prorate plans when cancelled a day into the next billing cycle? On top of that the company deprives the customer of their online access to their account once the line is cancelled giving access to only the profile setup which is worthless. Is it just me encountering this issue?
