I have been a loyal AT&T customer before it was AT&T, but rather Pacific Bell, since 1985.  I would say that is a considerable amount of time to be a loyal customer, never changing companies.  A couple years ago There was a promotion to bundle Uverse and Direct TV.  The salesman told me I would receive $350 in Visa gift cards if I changed my TV to bundle with Uverse.  He claimed "It's almost like getting free TV for a year.  I received one $100 Visa giftcard.  The password never worked.  I waited a few months, being extremely busy, and then called customer service for help with te card and why i hadn't received the $250.  I was informed that the giftcard had expired, and I couldn't have possibly been promised a $350 card.

I relplied yes, they did, and that I am a court repoter.  Although I was not on my steno machine, my listening and note-taking skills are far superior to the average person's ability.

I was told that was eroneous, that they never have had a program offering $350.  They have my conversation on tape but it would take some time to retrieve.  I waited an hour and 17 minutes, then I had to leave.  The customer service rep was rude, and snappy.  I had a suspicion I would never hear my tape, even if I waited 24 hours.

I went on automatic pay for this service, and when I moved, I thought I had canceled my service online, but there was no record that I had.  I was billed for usage that never occurred.  I asked if I could be refunded the $207, and that was out of the qquestion.  I said you could check the computer records and find out that indeed there was no usage on the account.  the customer service rep said they couldn't do that.

Now, here's the biggee:  When I bundled my Direct TV and Uverse, the saleslady for mobile seravice asked if I would like her to heck to see if she could find me a better plan that would save my famiily money.  Who wouldn't want to explor that?  She claimed we were not using a lot of data on the unlimited use plan, and if I changed to a limited use plan with a cap data usage amount that we had ot hit in the past, we could save qquite a bit of money.  I agreed.  I was never told I could not reverse the process if I wnted.  Wen I tried to reverse the process and retain my previous unlimited data plan, I was told they didn't offer it anymore.

Fast forward to a time period where we were in temporary living quarters until our home remodel was completed.  The wireless was almost nonexistent, and we ran up data usage.  They did send us notifications of the usage, but I never added them up.  The data usage totaled over $12,000.  AT&T will not remove that charge.  They were kind to deduct $200, but that's all they would do.

The customer service rep claimed that there was a recent promotion period of unlimited data.  I should have availed myself to that plan.

I claimed I never saw any commercials, ads regarding that promotion.

She smugly replied that she did.

Since we are trying to dispute the $1,000 worth of data charges, our service has been suspended.  And we have been loyal customers since 1985.

SO MY QUESTION IS CAN ANYBODY HELP US SUCCEED IN AT&T DROPPING THE CHARGES?  PLEASE HELP US.  WE ARE NICE PEOPLE.
