Using Plenti points to pay wireless bill?

AT&T answers here have said that points cannot be used for bill payment.

However, Note 3 at the bottom of the FAQ page "Using Penti Points at  MY AT&T says: "Eligible Wireless Bill:  You may use points for savings on a standalone AT&T consumer postpaid wireless bill.  Excludes select combined bills, prepaid, and non-wireless services."

Please clarify and explain how one in fact does use points to pay a portion of wireless bills in light of this information.
