Worst customer service and incompetent employees

I've been an AT&T customer since 1992. About to switch to Verizon! While on the phone with AT&T with simple question i was offered Uverse that I declined. 5 days later received a text message about techichian coming for installation. Spend next two days on the phone cancelling the installation. After that start getting numerous emails about my bill being combined. With what? I only have wireless phone with AT&T. Next two weeks had to call daily to get my bill "decombined". Finally they just cancelled my account and opened the new one. Within 2 weeks my account number was changed twice, my combined and de-combined bills overlap by 15 days, finally lost my employment discount. Went to AT&T local office with pay stub to get the discount back on. Had to go twice. Finally the discount was back on for about a week. Today received an email that I am about to loose my discount. They said that they received a hand written paper from my local office instead of the copy of my pay stub. Went there again, 3rd time. They submitted it again. When called to find out I was told that they are 4 days behind and would not tell me anything till it's my turn, in about 2-4 days. In the mean time I've been overbilled about $180 (all between overlapped bills, wrong plan and missing discount). AT&T customer service can only deal (unsufficiently) with one issue at the time. They do me a favor and offer $25, $30 discounts. I do not need any favors. I just want my normal account back. In the past two weeks I was on the phone with them almost daily and visited 3 times local office. I feel like I should be earning a paycheck there by now.

About to give up. Sounds like Verizon now offers better and cheapper service!
