No proration for monthly charge after service cancellation

My monthly bill cycle started on 8/11/15 and I had cancelled the serice on the 8/12/15 (one day after the new cycle). The final bill came with full monthly charge. To my surprise I was obligated to pay for what I did not use. I was with ATT U-verse internet before and I was not treated like this when the service was cancelled. ATT U-verse only partially charged for the days the service was still, not for the days after the service was cancelled. I called Customer Service and they explained that there is no policy for proration for ATT Wireless. They finally offered an adjustment of 15.00 as the solution. I do not quite understand the policy of no proration. It is so unfair for having to pay for the period after the cancellation. I believe that other carriers would not fully charge like this. I finally paid the "required" amount to avoid further late fee but quite not agree and still look for better solution from ATT. Does anyone here have the same experience?
