Poor customer service

Why did Att tell me to go buy a flip phone when my new iPhone 6 would not make out going calls. Spent 2 hours and 10 minutes on wife's phone with Att and was told to turn lte off got a whole $25 credit when I lost hundreds while phone wasn't working. One would think after paying $180.00 a month for years they would have said go to your nearest Att store and get a temporary phone until we fix the problem. I will be leaving Att tomorrow.
