I switched to the Mobile Share Value Plan from a Family Talk plan as soon as the new plans came out. I have an iPad and the Mobile Share was a better deal than having a separate data plan.
One of my lines is an old Blackberry that is only used for emergencies and it has never had a data plan. I was told when switching that this line qualified as a basic phone and that it would only be charged $20/month. When I got my bill, I was being charged $40/month. After chatting with support, I was told that my Blackberry is a smartphone that is under contract and it would be charged $40/month.
I asked to have my account rollback to the Family Talk plan, but I was told this is impossible. I understand that AT&T made a mistake when they quoted me $20/month, but if I was told the correct price in the beginning, I wouldn't have switched. I am not going to pay $40/month for this line, do I have any other options besides canceling my account?
