I went to an ATT store to update my phone on April 15, 2015. I told the clerk that I wanted to keep the same plan, and sign up for the Next 24 since, I have been with ATT close to 15 years.
He stated he could add an extra gig to to my data plan at no additional charge. I specifically asked him at that point. "My phone bill will stay the same, only adding on the additional $25 for financing the new phone". "Yes ma'am".
I leave out of town on April 16, 2015. The following week, I start recieving messages..."you are exceeding your texting limit" What?? I'm out of town, not in a place where I can spend the normal huge wait time to talk to ATT. The messages continue.
I contact ATT on May 11, 2015. The customer service rep states "I'm not sure what the guy did in the store, I don't know why your plan was switched to paying for individual text" I will credit your account for those, and switch your plan back to what you had"
Then I get the notice of my bill being due. It went from $75 to $210.
I just called ATT and spoke to someone in finance. "Ma'am, you've never had unlimted text"
"We've determined that you owed for the text messages that were credited"
"I get that you're frustrated. Do you want to pay this bill right now" How patronizing is that comment.
All I wanted was to keep my plan, update my phone...
I go back to my March phone bill it reads
"unlimted text"
Twice I was told my plan would be the same--and then I get to the finance department who esentially is calling me a liar when I state, I've had unlimited texting. "No--youve never had unlimited texting"
Why would anyone have a smart phone and pay for individual text??
It's never easy with ATT, I should have expected this, and just kept my old, slow, phone...at least my blood preasure wouldn't have went throught the roof today.
HELP ME. How do I get back to my original phone plan?
