Ended in good terms but now....

Okay so I had ATT a few years ago for quite some time and ended in good terms. Always paid on time and never complained so I figured since I was such a good customer then I wouldn't have to pay anything upfront now that I'm trying to sign up for a new contract with a new phone. I know my credits shot but honestly I think customer service based companies should honor their well....customers that was on time that always paid when they were supposed to. I'm wondering if you do have a policy that can waive deposits for us good ones that want to get your service again. My credit shouldn't be a factor if we did good business in the past.
