Intentionally deceiving the customer with hidden fees?

I went to see if my phone can be fixed at the at&t store locally.  Unfortunately, it could not.  I paid 70. for a gophone that only last a couple months!  I needed a phone so I bought another.  At that time, I was told ....since you are upgrading you can get this tablet for free!!!!  Well that I have learned was anything but a deal.  I thought my son can use for school.  I was told you have 14 days to decide if you want it...but if you return the phone you must return the tablet since it was free.  Well, that made sense.  I found out  that my son's school has specific requirements for the tablets used so this would not work.  I went back to the store to return and was told...no you can't return it unless you also return the phone ...what!  First off, I was not told that. Secondly, that made no sense. Last night, I saw my electronic bill and saw fees that I was not told about!  Has anyone else been given paperwork in the at&t folder without having a chance to read them?  I feel taken. Now my bill is double what it should be even though all I did was add a 6/month phone and a free tablet!!!!  I am a very disappointed customer that will no longer be loyal due to this treatment.
