John : If I was any better, vitamins would be taking me.
John : Upon checking here Tim, the bill got high because of interstate call on the line 0763 and some prorations for the installment plan on the account.
Tim: I thought I had unlimited long distance between states?
John : Let me go ahead and partner you with our billing department regarding this one so they can help you minimize your bill. Please stay online.

Welcome! You are now chatting with 'Roger '
Roger : Hi Tim! being on top of the account is really important, Ill be glad to assist you with your bill.
Tim: thanks. Can you please tell me why my phone bill went up $10 this month and why the due date changed from the second half of the month? For two years I've paid my bill on or about the 17th of the month and now all of a sudden it says payment is due on the 12th.
Roger : Ill be glad to check it for you.
Roger : upon checking the extra $10.00 if for the inter state lata toll which is a government tax fee,
Tim: I don't know what that means
Roger : with the due date we can have it change back for you to every 17th of the month.
Tim: I would appreciate that. I would also like to know what a Lata toll is so I don't do it again. I just want some consistency
Roger : this is a fee mandated by the state government.
Tim: how come I've never had to pay it before? Is this for DC?
Roger : Yes,
Tim: is it new?
Roger : No,
Tim: how come I didn't have to pay it before?
Roger : you ca check on the bill under Surcharges an and other fees the terminologies are different however it the same charge for government fees.
Tim: so back to square one and there's no explanation why my phone bill is all of a sudden $10 more than it was the previous month. Were you able to change my due date to the 17th?
Roger : Yes.
Tim: ok. Thanks. I hope you understand my frustration. fluctuations of a few cents or even a dollar are not worth my time to contact AT&T about. When my bill goes up $10/month ($120/yr) and AT&T cannot satisfactorily explain why, it makes me think I should switch carriers next time I'm eligible....
Roger : No worries.
Tim: have happy holidays
Roger : you too.
