Have to say over the years that AT&T has done better at customer service, but this iPhone 6 mess sets us back a decade. Frustration has led me to this as only outlet as the poor customer service people have to take the brunt of this horrible policy.
I paid $322 at Apple for a new iPhone 6...waited with 4S and a supposedly "free upgrade" for a full extra year. None at local AT&T so I went to Apple. I figured it seemed fair for me to pay the $322 with tax and Apple guy said ATT would charge me $40 one time fee and that's it.
Then I get a crytpic text from AT&T saying I have two days to take it back, but it really doesn't explain why. I assume I knew the $40 fee so it didn't matter.
Instead they removed some $25 discount I had in this maze of a bill. So for the privalege of signing a new contract, I now pay $40 for a LTE service and I don't get the $25 discount anymore. So I pay $25/mo more and $300 more each year = $922 for an iPhone 6 "free upgrade." A free upgrade actually cost me more than the phone retaills for?
I was toldd I had an option to pick a $31 or $37/month plan to pay for the phone without a contract. I would have not been in a contract then and I'd still have gotten my $25 discount and I'd not have paid $322 up front. But I had 14 days to do that and again the text I got said nothing about a loss of anything.
Just criminal. Because I signed up for two more years I pay $922, but if I had done Next and not signed a contract I"d have paid $6-12 more per month total....and there is nothing they can do to fix it she said. Customer service was nice enough to waive $40 one time fee but that's all she can do. I'll count the days on this two year plan and by then I'll be up to 5 phones on our account, plus a 20 person business account that I'll be pulling as soon as possible too.
Hope you can get it together AT&T.
