Switch to T-Mobile? I'm not sure AT&T cares...

I had an interesting exchange with someone from AT&T a few weeks ago... I explained my circumstances (as I will explain below) and what was his response?  "Sorry to see you go."  No attempt to retain loyal customers.   No attempt to try and meet anywhere in the middle.  I've become pretty frustrated with AT&T's values.  I hope they treat their employees better than their customers.

And at this point, it appears that T-Mobile is the way to go.  It's a no risk proposition; they pay off the remainder of your AT&T contract.

So, how did I get to this point and why am I so frustrated?

I have been an AT&T customer for a long, long time.  I've stuck with them even though my service is terrible.  I live in a densely populated area, but the tower me has the antenna facing in the opposite direction (according to AT&T).  Having a MicroCell helps to some degree, but in the event of a power outage, I have no service.  That does me no good considering I have young children.  I sat and wondered "why am I paying more for service when I barely get it?"

I explained the above to AT&T and they didn't care.  Truly disappointing.  If you haven't already--and I am still in the process of doing so--but consider other providers.  Find one who believes in the value of a customer and from all appearances, T-Mobile is fighting for your business.
