So I incidentally created a Uverse account when I got TV/Internet under my name and forgot the phone was under my wife's name. No problem. Merge the account? Its been 12 months and I kept getting "Call u-verse... not AT&T side.... you have to goto a website.... we don't know why the transfer didn't work try again." I've spent HOURS trying to fix this.
So much I pretty much decided to cancel it all and start over and look at other companies like Cox and Verizon.
But today it worked!
Or so I thought.... they merged my accounts, then knocked out my internet for an hour and I lost my connection and on-line chat rep twice... and had to start over. Lost $87 in billable time for work but oh well.
Then I want to know my bill.... 3 reps.... 1st I got disconnected.... 2nd didn't know and transferred me a a Unified billing rep (?) and then I got the rep, she said she was looking into it, 5 minutes later she says I'm not her and disconnects our chat.
Well all I wanted to do was verify my bill and discounts were still intact. And the first rep said my employee discount would still be on the account. And that my TV/internet discounts would still be there.
But he said my bill would be $97 plus taxes and fees and I didn't know what that referred to....
I'm so frustrated. I've been with AT&T for 6 years now.
And all I wanted to do was combined my phone and uverse bills.
I've probably got over 10 hours messing with this situation alone over the past year.
And I have a feeling my bill is going to be all messed up once its done.
My favorite part was "you shouldn't combine your accounts you'll lose your discounts" then "okay your accounts are merged" when I voiced my concern. No, "are you sure you want to do this since you'll lose discounts?"
Then when I said, "so now I have to wait 2-3 months to reapply my employee discount?"
He said "No, the employee discount will not be removed since we're not combining the billing account." (How does that make any sense.... you combined it but not the billing?)
Funny thing is I was told I'd get a $10 bundle discount since I have phone service, and recently, unlimited data.
Now I'm facing a $15 overusage charge coming up I'm sure for data.... and I've not received the bundle discount for 10 months so I've overpaid by $100.
Why was this such a hassle for IT?
Because it allowed me to "add" my uverse account to my ATT account, without bundling them.... but it said since our name wasn't the same, I couldn't get the discount. And they couldn't add my services because they were already linked to the ATT account.
Anyway.... I love AT&T's service.... but I've lost so much time, energy, money, and patience with this.
AT&T said my bill would be $97+(?). Assuming thats my phone bill, I can switch to Verizon and get more data for $80 for 2 lines.
And Cox offers higher speeds.
So I'm definitely interested in switching but seeing if AT&T can resolve this issue or not.
Come on AT&T I hate Cox! Please make this right so I can move on instead of switch.
