I went to AT&T store to get a hot spot device. ended up with that and a free tablet. Asked for help on how to work it and was told it was self explanatory. Plug and go. My grandson came to visit and played on the tablet for a few hours. I got a notification the next day that The tablet ended up using 200 gb of data. Delay in email notifications ,did not alert me until after the fact and it was too late. ( no notice on 75% near your limit) I took the tablet to the store and asked clerk to show me what was going on. What is using up data? He said none of my grandson's games use internet. No expectation what is using data. AT&T claims i have to pay for the gb i used, however no one can explain how this tablet could have used that much data in such short time. AT&T wants to keep blaming my 5 year old grandson on loading games, videos, or netfix. we were with him the whole time and he did not have any of those things open on the tablet nor would he know how to do that. Then AT&T wanted to blame it on someone who came into my house, stole the password to the hotspot, then connected to it and used the data! REALLY!? We live in a valley surrounded by 200 ac of land with no neighbors. We have no children that live at home and only a hand full of visitors have been to our house since we moved in .Our children own their own homes and have high speed internet at their house. Why would they be tapping into ours? We have made sure the smart TV was not connecting and ATT said it was not our cell phones that connected. So what is it? I have heard that there are programs running in the back ground that could have updated .. however would they use 200 gb in 2 days? I have been a customer for over 16 years and i will be leaving AT&T because I can not afford the bill. I guess when it goes to collections they will accept payments or settle for percentage on the bill. Anyone else having issue?
