Here is my issue: in the frames of 2014 "Black Friday" campaign we received LG tablet for free, with monthly fees of $10.00 added to our family plan. In 3-4 month tablet broke and we were not using it any more, although we continued to pay $10.00-month. After couple of month I called AT&T and requested to remove the tablet since it was useless. Customer Service rep told me he could not do that, so we continued paying for tablet. In December 2015 We switched to another company, we paid last bill at AT&T which included payoff balance for 2 cell phones and early termination charges. I lost my access to online account.
In March 2016 I received Suspension Notice on my account with AT&T. What? Didn't I close the account and paid $814.52 last bill including early termination fees? YES I DID! Did they terminate my online access while considering me a customer? YES THEY DID! Did I know I was still a customer? Absolutely NO.
I have 0, ZERO, usage on the tablet and AT&T still charges my "not closed" account and sends me these letters requesting payment ROBBERY IN BROAD DAYLIGHT!

Oh, and after spending hour-and-half on the phone, third time in a month, and talking to number of customer service reps, some supervisor named Kelly hung up on me! What a service!
