I have spent 8 hours so far trying to make my account right after ATT opened it as a business account in November 2012 in error. Just today it took me over an hour to find this link to your contact information. I was searching for a snail mail address to mail a letter disputing this charge.
Yesterday when I received the collection notice from Bay Area Credit Service I called the Credit Service, who asked me to get ATT on the line. I called 800-***-**** and spoke to Ron, who told me that I had no recourse but to pay.
ATT personnel at the Lakeshore store in Oakland told me that I owed no additional charges on my account in December. I am disabled and on a limited income. How am I supposed to budget for ATT's continual errors on my account? The hours this has taken me alone are worth this $139.11 bill.
Following is the text of my letter.

Collection Dispute
AT&T:
If you look back at the history of my cellphone account you will see that when I took it out of Harris Freeman’s account and set up my own account, the Lakeshore store set it up as a business account rather than a personal account.
I learned of this error by receiving a bill for over $1,000.00. I went back to the Lakeshore store, waited for an hour and a half while they got clearance to reverse the business account. After that time, I was told that I could leave, because the situation would be solved and they would call me. They called the same day and told me that my account status was corrected.
I was informed that all charges and credits were netted out.
I started receiving extra bills in March. I ignored them since I pay my account by automatic transfer.
Now you have sent me to collections. Your company assured me that my account was correct that day in the store.
I will not pay this bill. My time is valuable to ME. I have now spent 7 hours trying to fix YOUR problems.
I am tired of being polite about this. I am disabled and live on a pittance. I am trying to obtain public housing. A collection on my account will stop that from happening. I will not hesitate to take this public.
