After 8 years with At&t... Why am I not able to make a payment arrangement on my current bill

I have been a customer with AT&T for more then 8 years and I am struggling right now. My Boyfriend is laid off right now for a little while longer. ( As are many people in NJ. In the winter many people get laid off because you can't put up a fence when the ground is frozen or landscaping ect ) so I am carrying our bills right now. I made an arrangement for 2/27 and I was short. I called on 2/26 and tried to modify it but was told no. I had to borrow money and came up with 100 more and called again on 2/27 and they said no but if I could come up with the over due part they would work with me on the bill that came due on 2/27. I pawned my rings to come up with the money and I paid the over due bill. Now I called again and they will not work with me on the current bill. I explained I was told last week I have a blockage in my heart and I need the phone to speak with doctor because they are scheduling me for a procedure this week and it doesn't matter. I am only asking for a little more time to pay the current month. After I gave At&t my business for 8 years and my loyalty the rep I spoke to told me it is not up to the people any more that those choices have been taken away and the computer make those choices now. I am not happy with the new AT&T and hears a little advise for the new AT&T when you take the humans out of the picture and leave the computer in charge which has no feeling or compassion. You lose the humans that where once your best customers. I am left looking for a new carrier tonight and feeling sick with worry that my phone will be disconnected even though I just paid $481.00 over the last 3 days And being disconnected for a bill that is only 3 days over due. Which I begged for them to make a payment arrangement to be paid before the next bill comes due. WOW thanks for making me feel like 8 years of loyalty mean nothing to AT&T
