Upgrade Billing Question

Yesterday 1-23-16,  I upgraded my 10GB Mobile Share Plan account to a 15GB. I see that the account was indeed changed to a 15GB but the "billing reset" date of the 28th of each month did not. My question is, am I going to have to pay a full 30 day rate for just the 4 days left on the "new" account regardless of data usage since it resets again on the 28th? It is not a roll over account. If I had waited until the 27th, would I have had to pay $110 for 1 days usage seeing as it resets on the 28? Please help. Thank you
