Why was I not offered the shared data reduced plan when I called yesterday?

I am slightly peturbed to say the least.  First off, why in the world do I have 2 different dates to keep tabs on?  Billing date, data usage date...can I just have 1?

I called yesterday to inform AT&T that due to a delay in the processing of my unemp. insur. paperwork , I would be late. The lady I spoke with never bothered to mention what I just read online at recode.net!?

Lower prices on shared data plans!!!

Shared data plan cuts

Due to my last job I hopped up to 4 gb,  but now I can get by on 2 GB.  Furthermore, why am I paying $113.05 for a plan that is capped....when that article clearly says that plans such as I originally signed for are $65 a month??

I have to say I feel like I am being violated in the most private areas of my backside!  If my wife and kids were not sleeping I would be on the phone right now....

Why is it even more expensive if one does a 2 year contract??

I'm all ears.....and so sick I could yack.....

After cutting the cost of some family plans earlier this year, AT&T is providing lower-price options for customers with just one or two cellphone lines.

AT&T said Saturday it will now offer customers with one or two lines the option of a two gigabyte shared data plan, starting with one line for $65 per month. That’s $15 less than the current price.

The reduction applies to AT&T’s Mobile Share Value plans — no-contract plans for which customers either pay full price for a phone or bring their own device.

"So that's the monthly base rate, but what about the per-smartphone costs? Those are largely staying the same for new customers -- on-contract users pay $40 per line, while off-contract (Next and BYOD) customers get a discounted rate of $25 -- but AT&T tells us that existing on-contract customers will be able to take advantage of the discounted rate. This means that everyone who had been forking out $95 for an individual 2GB plan should now find themselves $30 richer each month, while folks with a $135 bill for two lines can whittle their monthly costs down by $45."

ATT?
