Data usage

Has anyone else experienced problems with their data being consumed although you've not been online? We have used 40 gbs this month which is normal, but with a week still to go before the cycle starts over is not. Although in the past we've noticed our data usage increasing during the night while we're sleeping or when we know that none of us have been online and that all our apps have been closed out it's really not been a whole lot so it's not come to the forefront because we haven't had to pay $15 for an extra gb that often, however this billing cycle we've already had to purchase 3 extra gbs with 3 days still to go. Also I don't think AT&T or any company for that matter should automatically add extra data without your consent when you use your allotted amount for the month. It should be up to the customer to request it. If for no other reason (especially in today's world) is because people get side tracked don't pay much attention to their data usage or all the text reminders that pop up telling you that you've used 75%-90% of your data. When it's used up and you try to log on and it doesn't work then you see you've used your amount for the month you can either then add more time or if you know that you can't afford it or whatever the case may be for that month you don't have to therefore you know exactly what the amount your bill is going to be for that particular month is the way it should be. I know that you can go in and turn the data usage off but if that can be done then it shouldn't be to hard to set it up were it shuts off when you've used your data up, at that point then you could go in and request more data if you want to. Fix it the same way that you turn the data usage off now.
