unauthorized billing

We have 3 phones, 1 with data plan. Last year the phone provided by ATT for a non data line broke and in a rush I used my old smartphone, for which i went into the store and had the sim card switched to a nano card which made it possible to use it with the smartphone.

No one informed me that the data plan clicks in etc.....and i even called Att to inform them of what i did(which is why this issue is even more ridiculous). This happened JANUARY 13th 2014( i got this verified by the store today).

Yesterday, I accidently found out that Att added a data line to this phone in April of 2015. Every cust rep i talked to, even a supervisor says that their system is right and i must have got the sim changed in April. Incidently, my credit card was authorized for auto pay which is why again i didnt notice the charges thinking i must have exceeded my text plan.

My angst is not that i was even misinformed and smart phones are charged for data but that it was done without my consent. My credit card, which is provided to ATT on trust was misused. Was there any attempts made to understand my explanation? NO!

I was told i did something and they couldnt accept my explanation for it, except what they saw in their system. The fact that that SIM was in used on this line for 2 years is a verifyable fact. If I was told i would have signed up for a data plan( a stronger possibility) or choose not to use the smart phone. But it had to be my choice not ATT's!!

I cant believe that they would disrepect their customers specially since i have been with them for ever!!

Just want to know whats the recourse to make att correct this wrong?
