I have been a loyal AT&T customer for 10 years, starting with Cingular before switching over to AT&T. I switched from Sprint because everything from the satisfaction, signal availability, and customer service was much better.
I am active duty military. While recently detached to a remote area for training, I started receiving account text updates warning me that my data was reaching the limit and that I would be charged additional funds for additional data. That was news to me because I had "Unlimited data" ever since I had a smartphone in 2007.
After being charged additional money and doing some research into my account, I saw that I now have something called "Data Plan Pro" which charges me a whopping $50 per month for 5GB of data. That really irks me. I NEVER authorized or consented to that plan. I cannot even determine when the change was made but it looks to have been quietly changed sometimes last year which means I was charged well over $300 in the past year and a half and perhaps even more without my knowledge.
As a loyal customer I am absolutely disappointed and rather upset that this kind of tactic was used and still do not understand why this change occurred.
I am most likely going to look to change providers unless someone can give me a reasonable explanation that doesn't leave me even more upset, because this is just appalling to me.
