On 11/10 I received a text message supposedly from AT&T Free Msg: (#11113000) stating that as a "thank you" they doubled my data from 1GB to 2GB. Well come to check my bill I am seeing a series of plan change credits and debits such that my bill is now $16.50 more. This after AT&T led me to believe this was a free offer.
The AT&T Biilling system is the worst I have ever encountered. Just in the last 3 months they have
1. Attempted to bill me for the same month twice, once on my originally billing and a second time on the unified billing I signed up for to combine Directv
2. It took them 40 days to proocess a $170 payment I made thus making it appear I was past due for that billing cycle
3. Up until yesterday they were attempting to bill me again for the Sept billing cycle on my Oct bill. The amounts were all exactly idientical including one (1) 7 minute international call I made in Sept. That was what indicated to me they were attempting to duplicate the billing month over month because I made that call only once, not twice.
The sad part is that when you read through this forum or just Google AT&T billing issues and get page after page of results it's obvious AT&T has no inclination to make any efforts to improve their billing processes. It continues to get worse year after year and I have 100% confidence in AT&T that they are going to ruin Directv. Their track record indicates it's a sure thing.
And equally as frsutrating it their customer service. The people you talk to or chat with do not have a clue, you'll get totally ridiculous answers from them or completely different answers to the exact same question simply by talking to a different representative.
I have no faith in AT&T and am in the process of switching to Verizon for everything. I wish more people would do the same to somehow get AT&T to feel it in their pocket books, thats the only way they will ever even try to make things better
