Charged for calling AT&T from the ME to have my phone suspended and unlocked

Hello,

In mid Sept I left for overseas duty in the ME. I went through the proper channels to have my phone unlocked for international use by military service members overseas. The web based service to do this would reject my case due to somebody not reviewing it and or doing their due diligence to review all the files and rules.

The continued denial requests prompted me to call att (611) to discuss the issue with them and confirm that I had infact submitted everything correctly (military orders and met all other reqs). Over a two day period I spoke with atleast four different service reps who claimed they could fix the issue (none did via the phone). These calls totaled 110 minutes, much of which was on hold. This resulted in a $275 dollar service fee for international roaming. With no access to DSN, or even a phone to call by other means, my only option was to us my phone to call ATT.

Eventually, via this site, I was able to get the help I needed and was given an unlock code, so that's cool.

I am now wondering if I am in the wrong for asking to receive credit back for the 110 minutes I spent on the phone with ATT reps who didn't know what they were doing?

If anybody can provide some guidance or help I would be supremely greatful.

Edited to add one of my unlock cases (***) so that any ATT reps who read this can hopefully ID my account....

Phil-101, Sorry for putting my case number in there. I did email the military care center on this same issue and included it there, hopefully a solution is presented.

Thanks

Neil
