I went to a at&t authorized retailer to port my wife's wireless service from another carrier into at&t and add her number to my existing family plan. The guy created a new account with a second family plan by mistake and then told me that the problem would get automatically fixed in a day or two. I logged into my at&t profile a week later to find out that I was being charged for two family plans. I called customer service, and got them to move the number to the correct family plan and cancel this new account which should have never existed. It took me several attempts to get that done because at&t had put a dummy SSN on file in my old account and my real SSN in the new one. Meanwhile, at&t kept charging me for both family plans until the date one of them was successfully cancelled. I called customer service and they said they'd make sure that I only have to pay what I would have if there had been no error. They didn't. I called them again and they told me I wouldn't have to pay anything--- all charges on the cancelled account would be credited. They weren't. I called them again. This time they told me that I owed them the full amount because I had bought the two plans and used them. The at&t authorized dealer tells me to go to a corporate store. The corporate store simply dials the customer service number and hands me the phone. I get different answers from different customer service representatices each time. What options do I have before I go to court?
