I switched from ATT to AirVoice Wireless prepaid - number was ported on 1-21-14. But ATT auto debited my bank account for the full monthly ATT amount on 1-30-14. I understand that I owed for the part of the month that I had ATT service, of course, although I expected to be billed a pro-rated amount since I didn't use the full month.
I realize I was supremely dumb for not canceling the autodebit first, because now I can't access the ATT account. I would think that meant they will no longer autodebit-- but they did on 1-30-14 even after I ported. Trying to call or go online for support doesn't work because they ask for my phone number and that routes me to the "prepaid phone" department.
I'm a little angry at being charged for the full month and not a prorated amount, but I'm freaked out at the prospect that the autodebit may just continue with no way to cancel because the account access is gone.
I really NEED to make sure that I will not continue to be autodebited for $72.68 a month!!
Can any ATT customer service person help me to confirm this?
