I recently moved out of my home of 15 years at which time I cancelled my AT&T Uverse service because AT&T was unable to transfer Uverse to my new home. Still I kept my AT&T Wireless service and updated my profile with my new address.
Several weeks after I moved out, I noticed something was odd with my att.com account as I no longer was able to view my AT&T Wireless Bill. To my surprise I saw a message stating Direct TV and Uverse Internet were being installed at my old address under someone elses name and being combined with my AT&T Wireless account. I immediately reached out to AT&T and have been trying to get assistance from them over the last 3 days to no avail. I've been transferred from the Uverse dept, to Wireless dept, to Direct TV, to AT&T Integrated Service Modules which apparently deals with Unified Billing (was told system was down so couldn't help me call back in 3 hours) and finally Fraud department. I've now been waiting for Fraud to try and deal with the situation to no avail. Btw, I was forced to go to an AT&T store which was no help either because they were trying to verify my wireless account with the Direct TV, Uverse Internet Account owners info.
AT&T seems to have breached every single sort of compliance issue I can think of with their Unified Billing system as they overrode without permission (identity verification) my AT&T Wireless account passcode, security questions, billing and identity with the new tenants info. No one seems to know how to fix this issue. As of today my AT&T Wireless account and the new tenant's Direct TV and Uverse Internet account are combined. I'm unable to detach my wireless account or make any changes to my account because of this Unified Billing system.
I feel my consumer rights have been trampled upon and no one is willing to or has the ability to resolve this issue.
