horrible service - UPDATE

I switched to AT&T from Verizon on June 4, and ordered 2 phones at the same time.  On June 5, AT&T ported our phones from Verizon to AT&T, even though we hadn't received our phones yet.  Nothing in the ordering process indicated tht we would lose our phone access from Verizon before we received/activated our new phones, but we lost Verizon phone service the next day, on June 5.  I called AT&T immediately, and they admitted that they ported us over too early, and they suggested we port back to Verizon temporarily until our new phones arrived, and they put me through a grueling 2-hour process of porting back to Verizon.

 

Verizon ported us back (although our phone service with them never worked - yet another kick to the gut).  On Saturday (June 6), our new AT&T phones arrived and we ported back to AT&T and activated our phones.

 

This week, we received our final Verizon bill, and found that we were due a refund, but that they charged us $110 for re-activation fees (for one day - June 5) and subtracted that from our refund for the PORT BACK to Verizon (because AT&T ported us too early).  I think this is outrageous that WE should lose $110 for a mistake that AT&T made.  Everyone I spoke to at AT&T on June 5th to port back to Verizon admitted that this was a mistake made by AT&T.  AT&T should have warned us about the fact that we might have to pay re-activation fees to go back to Verizon (for one day) due to their mistake, but they did not.

 

When I called Verizon yesterday, they LITERALLY hung up on me 3 times because I am not a customer of their's anymore - they don't care and they won't help.  I called AT&T tonight for some kind of refund for my trouble (caused by porting us too early) and a loss of $110, and I get a guy named JACOB PAYNE who was absolutely rude and refused to help.

 

I'm trying to understand why I am on the hook for $110 because of a mistake that AT&T made. 

 

UPDATE (8/15): AT&T REFUSES to take responsibility for their mistake.  They refuse to credit me for a mistake that THEY made.  On the night of the mistake, they waived our 2 phone Activation Fees ($40) as a courtesy for the 2 1/2 hours I spent on the phone trying to straighten out the mistake that THEY made (porting us too early).  
Now they are DOUBLE-DIPPING - they say that the refund of the activation fees is BOTH a courtesy for the 2 1/2 hours of wasted time, AND it is also supposed to cover the $110 that Verizon charged me for AT&T's mistake.  The math doesn't add up - I get nothing - all they're doing is (barely) paying the Verizon charge (that THEY caused), and now I get NO courtesy for the 2 1/2 hours...

BOTTOM LINE: AVOID AT&T AT ALL COSTS...
