Let me start out by saying I've been an AT&T customer for 11 years now. I always pay my bills and never ask for handouts. My bill consists of 2 lines (both iphones, 1 has the grandfathered "unlimited" data and 1 has the grandfathered 5GB data plan. I've consistently paid in excess of $160/mo for these 2 lines, which is ridiculous.
Lately I've seen these "double your data" ads, but they all seem to be targeted at newer customers interested in the mobile share plans. Our issue is that we have no interest in the mobile share plans... your phone reps are all-too-happy to push that on me everytime I call. What I would like to do is increase the line with 5GB on a SINGLE data plan. However, this isn't possible, so what gives?
You will happlily throw free/bonus data at all of these new signups but those of us who cherish our grandfathered plans are just left out in the cold? I called this morning and was rudely hung up on by some sort of supervisor / manager (more on that in a bit as I'd like to report that clown) for suggesting that 11 years of loyalty should count for something.
I'm begining to think AT&T is following suit with Comcast with regards to it's customer service. Rude represenatives, predatory pricing & no love for long-time customers... sounds familiar.
So I'd like to hear from AT&T's social media team... is this really AT&T's policy? I honestly cannot upgrade a single line above 5GB of data? Is AT&T trying to force me to join the mobile share? Do you realize that $160 for 2 lines is quite literally double what most companies charge in 2015?
Thanks,
Ryan
