Hi All,
So I recently switched my provider and left AT&T. Several reasons involved. I called late November (20th to be exact) to confirm my 2 year contract was over at the end of the month... I was told it was. Then I asked if I wanted to cancel, I wanted to make sure there would be no additional charges. They told me no, I had paid my 24 months, and I could cancel and there would be no termination fee. I said OK, so 5 days later (25th), still in November, I switched.
I got a bill a couple weeks later for $300+. I was told to expect this, but that i would get a follow up bill clearing me from owing anything. Well yesterday I got a notice that they were coming after me with a third party to collect unpaid money. I was outraged. I called customer service talked to 4 different people... they all told me I terminated early and there was nothing to do. Also, I guess I owed them a prorated amount of $ for November of '13... also different from when I was told I was bill in advance originally.
They have proof I made the call... and I explained, if I was told I had to wait until Dec 1 to switch over my provider, why would I instead do it Nov 25... I would have only had to wait 5 days!! It was left as me supposedly receiving a call back within 72 hours from a supervisor on how to get rid of this.
I was a customer who paid in full on time every month. Sure, I left ATT but it is/was possible I'd come back! I am fully employed in my late 20s, still a lot of time to get me back at a customer! But depending on how this plays out, it will change everything. Is this anything that anyone else has experienced?
Thank you very much,
Peter
