My missing payments case was closed without investigation!

I recently checked my credit score so I could look into buying a house; it was then that I discovered at&t still had record of a debt of $580 I owed them. My memory served me right, though, when I checked my bank statements that showed proof that I made these payments. I then called at&t and filed a missing payments case with them. I even wrote a letter to Trans Union Credit Company letting them know of at&t's mistake. I had to file 2 complaints. One for each missing payment: case#1: $280.62 for the date of 08/02/11 followed by the case number, and case #2: $280.62 for the date of 08/16/11 followed by the case number. I have record of both of these payments, and when the att representative told me I would receive a phone call by may 6th, I had filed my complaint may 1st I believe. Well two weeks later and no phone call I check again. 3 times I called to be told my case was closed and they needed me to hold to reopen the case, which for some reason proved to be too difficult a task and resulted in me being disconnected, or 'hung up on' 3 times. This is affecting my credit score and I need it to be resolved. I want a person to talk to and somewhere to send my proof.
Shame on att for not providing more efficient and reliable customer service. Customer service that actually cares about results for their consumers. I may not have millions to sue, but this is my livelihood and credit you are affecting. Fix this please. Redeem yourself as a good AMERICAN company, because this is not how we, the Americans, should be acknowledged and dealt with.
Thank you
