Fed up

We've been ATT customers for 4+ years. I am also an ATT shareholder. The punitive billing practices of this company are out of control.

Some of my recent gripes:

1. A $36 "upgrade fee" when choosing a new phone.

2. I went over my 300MB data plan by 10 MB last month. Instead of assigning me to the next tier data plan of 3GB for the month ($30.00) I was charged an additional $20 for another 300MB. In what world does that make any sense?

3. I talked to customer service regarding putting a block on data when the monthly limit is reached. Apparently that can be done for....$4.99 per month.

4. I previously downgraded my 2GB data plan ($25.00 with 21% corporate discount to make it $19.75) to the 300MB data plan to save a few bucks per month. I was working under the assumption the 21% corporate discount would apply to the 300MB data plan to make it $15.80 per month. Apparently, the corporate discount now only applies to the top tier data plan that is $65.00. So now I'm paying .25 more 85% less data. And best of all I can't switch back to 2GB data!

5. On one of my lines I have a non smartphone. I swapped an iphone in for literally 1 day and was auto added a data plan. And of course, the cheapest plan wasn't added, but the 3GB data plan for $30.00. This smartphone was unlocked and not under any contract. Imagine if your ISP decided to bill different rates if you have a "smart" computer hooked up to your Internet connection.

6. .61 per line per month admin fee. I'm not sure that is even legal. It sure sounds like breach of contract to me.

In summary this company appears to be run by morally corrupt people looking to extract every last cent out of its customers. I'll be leaving once this contract is up.
