Ok so I have a 30 gig plan that use for playing video games due the lack of high speed internet in my area.
I use the phone to play mainly Dota 2 which consumes about 50 mb an hour.
I played a game of dota that lasted about an hour and then I disconnected from the game and took a nap. I wake up, check my phone, and see 18 overage texts. My phone is telling me I used 27 gigs of data in just the few hours I was asleep.
I called ATT about and they sent me over to tech help. I get in touch with tech help and they are telling me that games consume more data then watching movies or anything else. With the speeds I get from the tower it would take me about 13 hours to transfer that much data, but according to the tech rep and his manager "since its a game it is possible that can happen because gaming uses a different type of streaming data". This is an outright lie or completely misinformed employees in the tech department.
I have been using this phone for this exact thing for the past 2 years and this has never happened, yet the Tech reps. tell me it happens all the time.
So here I sit with 27 gigs used in a few hours and ATT basically telling me I used and I need to spend more money and upgrade my plan while totally ignoring the fact that it is physically impossible for me to transfer that much data in the given amount of time.
