I have a iPhone 5 that was still under warranty when the volume control stopped working back in early September. I called AT&T and they sent me out a new replacement and told me when it arrived to send my old one back to them, else I would get charged for the cost of the IPhone.
It never arrived. In the end , it turns out it was shipped to Queensbury, NY AT&. Store instead.
I called AT&T back and they said they would FedEx one immediately. They sure did, unfortunately it was wrong model and color. I refused it and it was returned.
I have order #s and tracking numbers for both shipments!
Somehow, AT&T never updated these records with the warranty depart that sort that handles them and they told AT&T that they never received the return phone of mine. I received a bill this month of 733.00.
After 5 more calls from the time of receiving the bill, and not being able to get AT&T's rediculoas support dept to sort it out, I cancelled my service with AT&T after 7 years of never missing a payment.
What now? They said they will now charge me 250 for breaking my service contract ! LOL! In the meantime, I still have the broken phone that was originally on warranty , and now, no service. It's time for a New Samsung Android phone and a new carrier (Verizon!)
NOTE: For some reason I think they did this on purpose to get rid of me since I was a grandfathered customer with unlimted service
