AT&T over charging for services we did not sign up for should be illegal.
I could not text pictures because we were not contracted to send data internationally. Though iMessage we have unlimited texting but not for sending photos. So why was that turned off but not the 50 cents a text?
When we get on the plane we make sure that Cellular data is turned off because we were charged 30 dollars for international data usage when we were "notified" through text messages from AT&T of data usage. Customer service has ALWAYS been a positive experience.
If we knew about these over charges I would not of been sending 300 to 400 texts. (Which I don't believe I sent out). I feel AT&T is over charging for services that we did not know existed on our plan. We had cellular data turned off and only used wifi at our hotels. This has never been on any of our bills until we were out of the country. The last few times AT&T charged us for international usage they texted us to let us know we were being charged for data usage. After AT&T notified us of these fees we stopped using our phones and paid the 30.00 international fees. My husband said that we should not be charged for services that are not part of our plan. We were not aware of these charges until we got the bill and when we called AT&T they told us if we would of called earlier they would of reduced the over charges to the 30.00 international rate. How could we call about the charges if we were not made aware of them? We have gotten 8 texts from AT&T while we've been in Europe asking us to sign up for international usage, BUT no texts informing us that AT&T was charging us 120 dollars for text messages. We've been in Europe for 21 days on a business trip and went online to pay the bill and was shocked! We have been AT&T customers over 30 years and have never had any problems with customer service. My husband and I both talked to customer service about the 120.00 charges for the last billing cycle and they explained if we had called earlier before the billing cycle ended they could of corrected the over charges. We asked to speak to a supervisor and he just kept repeating that if the text is green then it's money. 50 cents a text and that there was nothing he could do about the over charges. We explained to him everything that has been written in this email and he just repeated if it's green it's money. We were on the phone with AT&T trying to get this resolved so long that we became very frustrated. We did expect to pay the 30.00 rate for our mistake for the international usage but not 120.00. So I waited 15 minutes and called customer service back and got a very nice woman who was able to help us immediately. She took 60.00 off our bill from the last billing cycle. I asked if I could speak to her manager so I could leave positive feedback for her because she immediately resolved a very frustrating problem. BUT, I still think we've been over charged 30.00. I want to stay with AT&T and was looking for a plan for my granddaughter but after experiencing being over charged for texting services we were unaware of I will be more careful about which carrier we sign up with and get everything in writing.
My sister has an iPhone 5s and her text messages are green and she is not paying 50 cents a text?
We are forced to pay 60.00 for a international service we didn't want this is ridiculous we work very hard for our money
Thank you for your consideration,
Vicki
