I want to know how ATT figures pro-rated months. What are they using for the days in a month to figure pro-rated amounts on a bill. I changed to a lower data plan in about mid-month and took off insurance on both of my devices. I was told that the bill would reflect this and when I pulled up the bill, of course it did not show that I had cancelled insurance or that I went to a lower plan. I pro-rated the bill for the days at the higher rate and lower rate for the days on each and I also pro-rated the insurance for the days I was enrolled. I figure the number of days in a month should be 30.416 for 365 days a year divided by 12. I came in at 142.48 and the actual figure for cancelling insurance and adjusting for the lower data plan that they came up with was 157 and some odd cents after they did a $25 adjustment which he stated was more than I should have gotten. Someone needs to go back to school! I also wanted to get rid of the data share plan for my tablet on the 17th of February, I signed up on February 3rd and got all my paperwork and enrolled around 7:30 PM that day. I saw on the contract it was 14 days to cancel the plan and the first day was the 3rd when I was cancelling on the 17th. No one said anything about the cancellation policy when I signed up, of course contracts have so much wording it's easy to miss. I thought the 17th I would still be able to cancel as it was around 4:30 when I called and being they start on the 1st day you enroll I figured that should take you to the date and time of actual enrollment for the 14th day which technically would have expried on the 17th at 8:00 PM so I should have been able to cancel the tablet for sharing and wifi. But of course they didn't see it that way. I am stuck in this insaned, high priced contract now for two years, bad choice I made to go to ATT and it looks like they can't even figure out the bills when you do call to have them fix something that isn't right. On top of it they want you to pay for the bill even though it isn't right and wait for the next month for them to adjust it. ATT is not the way to go, I will definitely take my business elsewhere if I can find a way to get out of this contract. I know other wireless companies are buying contracts. One month in and already tired of the *****. By the way the hispanic speaking person that I spoke with on the 17th and barely could understand or speak english didn't have the cancellation in the system yet when I called today, March 9th. Do not sign up for ATT, there are better plans and companies to go with. If anything go pre-paid, less headaches. After 9 years of pre-paid I wish I would not have chosen to go with ATT for a contract plan just to get Wi-fi. Stupid move. Here is another good one. If you put anything derogatory regarding a REpresentative of the company, they won't let you post.
