Lies and Deception

I have been a loyal customer of AT&T since 1999, but due to my recent experience, I will be finding a new service provider. It began in December when I upgraded my iPhone to a Samsung S5 Active at the local AT&T store in Madison, Alabama.
At the end of the transaction, the sales representative told me that LG was running a promotion on the 7" tablet. It was only 99 cents. I said I already had an iPad so I didn't really need another tablet. He said there was no obligation, no contract, so I agreed to take it. It wasn't until I got my next bill, that I learned that I was being charged a $40 activation fee and $10 dollars a month on a 2 - year contract. Upon calling AT&T and speaking with several people, I was told that it was my fault for not reading the terms and conditions, and there was nothing they would do about it.
When I asked who I could address this to if they wouldn't help me, I was told there was no one else; that their department was the final authority. I asked repeatedly for a corporate phone number and was told there was none. I asked if there anyone else in their department that could help me and they said their superior would tell me the same thing.
I have made at least 10 phone calls within the last two days, spent more than 3 1/2 hou@rs on the phone and talked to at least 10 different people in 3 different departments, to no avail. I was finally given an address where I could write if I wanted to. NO ONE OFFERED TO HELP ME; THEY ALL TOLD ME I SHOULD HAVE READ THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS. I am in the process of cancelling my service. I cancelled my uverse tv. I cancelled both of my tablet contracts ($300 in ETFs). As soon as can afford it I will cancel the rest of my phones and my Wifi.
